Perio Surgical Specialists is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification.

Our approach

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. In building and maintaining the site we work toward:

  • Text and background colors that meet AA contrast ratios
  • Full keyboard operability with visible focus states
  • Labels on every form field, with errors announced to assistive technology
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images
  • A clear, consistent heading structure and logical reading order
  • Layouts that adapt to mobile screens and to enlarged text
  • Respect for the operating-system 'reduce motion' setting

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time task. We test the site across browsers, devices, and screen sizes and continue to make improvements. Some content or third-party components (for example, an embedded map) may not yet be fully accessible; where that is the case, we provide an alternative — such as the practice address and a text “Get directions” link.
